I Relish In Brooklyn
Cheapeats was recently hanging out in Williamsburg and found a great spot called Relish. This eclectic restaurant is housed in a old fashioned silver dining car. But old fashioned, it’s not. The menu features seasonal, organic and sustainable ingredients. Grass fed beef burgers which turned my friend who eats turkey burgers only, into a fan.
The appetizer of Moules & Frites were floating in a tasty broth of wine, garlic and aromatics that called out for dunking. Bread please. The plate was large enough for 3 people to share. When we saw the size of the onion rings, we had to get an order for the table. They were HUGE! My pumpkin ravioli with broccoli rabe in a brown butter sage sauce were light with a hint of sweetness and warming to my belly . Accompanied by a glass of Montepulciano, it was the perfect meal for a cold winter’s day.
The staff was great and tried to entice us with dessert, but we were too full. I will definitely go back and try the Pepsi Cola and Chocolate Cake. What can I say, I’m bad. But when I’m bad…I’m better.
Happiness, $25 and under.
