Amy’s Bread Introduces Signature Sandwich by David Bouley to Benefit Tribeca Nonprofit
Amy’s Bread is teaming up with celebrated chef David Bouley to bring a taste of Tribeca to sandwich lovers across New York City. The sandwich is part of Amy’s Bread Chef Sandwiches For Good, a program that features a new sandwich each month created by a noted chef who selects a charity to receive a portion of the proceeds.
Bouley’s TriBeCa Roast Chicken with Veggies debuted on Wednesday, May 4th at Amy’s Bread in Chelsea Market, and will be available throughout the month at all Amy’s Bread locations. A portion of proceeds from the sale of each sandwich will benefit Chef Bouley’s chosen charity, TriBeCa Native, which raises funds to support organizations working to cure societal and environmental issues in New York City.
TriBeCa Native, Inc., founded by Nicole Bartelme in 2003; is a nonprofit organization that raises funds to help cure conditions of societal and environmental problems in lower Manhattan and throughout New York City. Some of the TriBeCa Native supported organizations include: New Alternative’s For Children (NAC), Association for Community Employment (ACE), James Beard Foundation, Manhattan Youth Organization, Church Street School of Music, WBAI Progressive Radio, The Robin Hood Foundation, Martin Guitar Charitable Foundation, Metropolitan College (MCNY), The Museum of the City of New York, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Delancey Street Foundation,The Caring Community
“This collaboration is a reunion of sorts,” said Amy Scherber. “I started my career with David more than 25 years ago, working as a cook for two years at Bouley Restaurant when it first opened. It was a tremendous learning experience, and it was there that I discovered my passion for bread baking, and I learned from David that it’s all about the details.”
“Trained in Nouvelle technique, years ago I decided to get away from butter and cream and build a cuisine that was clean, nutrient-dense and full of energy,” said Chef Bouley. “I emphasize freshness so as to capture the highest level of flavor – a passion I share with Amy! For this reason, Amy’s Bread is the perfect partner. I am delighted to be working with Amy once more.”
Sandwich lovers can look forward to more delicious offerings by top chefs, including Alex Guarnaschelli, Lynn Bound, Anita Lo, Missy Robbins, Bill Telepan, and others to be announced.
Bouley’s TriBeCa Roast Chicken with Veggies
Chef David Bouley’s sandwich features all-natural chicken breast roasted with onion and garlic, topped with red pepper, fresh spinach, roasted red onion, fig balsamic by Catskill Provisions and Empire rosemary mayo, served on a Ciabatta roll.
