The Best Vegetarian, Vegan And Gluten-Free Meal I Ever Had…REALLY!

Since the start of 2012, nutrition and exercise, has been our focus. But being good, can be boring and well…boring. We recently were in Park Slope, Brooklyn and found the answer to our prayers.

Sun In Bloom is a WONDERFUL cafe that serves Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Raw and Kosher fare. Don’t roll your eyes; keep reading. The interior sets the stage. Clean white walls, exposed brick, open kitchen and long communal tables.

It was a rainy Saturday when I popped in. I was quickly greeted by a smile and escorted to my table. Being this was my first time, I needed a little help with the menu. My server answered all my questions and offered some suggestions too. “I’ll have the Breakfast Burrito and a cup of Green Tea.”

While enjoying my cup of tea, I scoped out the patrons. Hipsters, families, couples and seniors too. Quite an eclectic group. Soon my entree arrived. Let the eating begin.

Picture it, veggies, tofu, beans and brown rice, dressed in a delicious sauce, wrapped inside a whole wheat wrap, with a small side salad. IT WAS DELICOUS. It was hearty and filling. The PERFECT breakfast.

Throughout my meal, I kept eyeing the Gluten-Free Desserts. Plates of cupcakes, cookies and cakes, kept passing me by. Tempation! “Any room for dessert?” Should I or shouldn’t I? My server suggested the Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake. “It’s the most amazing thing I ever ate”; she said. How can I pass that up?

She wasn’t kidding. This creamy mousse of cocoa, cashews, agave, coconut oil, vanilla, salt and strawberries was THE MOST AMAZING THING I’VE EVER EATEN. It was light, creamy and SINFULLY DELICIOUS. I can not believe there was no dairy, no sugar, no eggs and no wheat inside. Amazing!!!

Needless to say I loved my meal. In fact, I dined there the very next day. If I lived in Park Slope, I would eat there EVERDAY!!!

Who said healthy can’t taste good.

I have the same feeling every time I consume raw food. raw food brought me on taste I never experienced before. if it goes to culinary raw food – and well done, it is even more pure heaven. but also to drink only raw juices and smoothies is already huge diference in taste to pasteurised – cooked juice. it happened that a friend asked if I am not bored with the raw food. Finaly, I found a diet which is it. Ultimate, tasty, fresh and nutritionrich. And I can eat whatever raw food and how much I like and stay slim and my skin well. That was not like that before.
