Just one month after its fourth U.S. location opened in Manhattan’s Theater District, Pie Face, the 24-hour Australian pie shop, will open another location at 464 Ninth Avenue (and West 36th Street). The Ninth Avenue shop, the fifth location in the concept’s growing stateside empire, will open on May 20th.

To celebrate the opening, Pie Face will unveil their brand new summer milkshakes called Smashers, blended with Pie Face’s popular mini sweet pies and vanilla ice cream. The pie goes right in the blender with the ice cream, and the whole thing is topped with a mini slice of pie for the ultimate pie a la mode. Customers can choose from “The Crumbler” made with Apple Crumble pie and caramel sauce, “The Nutter” made with Pecan pie, and the “Le-Mon” Smasher made with the popular Lemon pie.

The menu at the newest Pie Face store will also include their iconic Australian savory pies (with adorable faces piped on top to indicate the filling), sausage rolls, sandwiches, pastries, mini sweet pies, and premium Australian-roast coffee.

As is tradition at Pie Face grand openings, the Pie Face Prize Wheel will be out on Grand Opening day as part of the celebration. When customers make a purchase at the new shop, they’ll have a chance to spin the wheel and win a free pie, coffee, or lamington (a classic Aussie dessert consisting of vanilla sponge cake filled with raspberry jam, dipped in chocolate, and rolled in coconut). And of course Pie Patrol will be passing out free samples of the new summer Smashers in the area surrounding the new store.
