Our Fave Products From The NYC Vegetarian Food Festival

If you ever get a chance to attend the NYC Vegetarian Food Festival…..GO!!! It’s a great way to learn about healthy eating, win prizes and sample the latest and greatest products. We wanted to share some of our faves.

Dairy Free CheeseDaiya cheese is dairy and soy free. It melts easily and tastes yummy. Perfect for Vegans and Lactose Intolerant folks.

Honest Tea – Forget Snapple, this is good stuff. Iced Teas, fruit teas, fruit juices and kids juices that are all natural and NO HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP.

Hot Yoga Vacations

Hot Yoga Vacations – Escape from the craziness of everyday life to the famous island of Mykonos, where they combine Yoga and a luxurious vacation. Their packages includes room, meals and yoga. Sign me up 🙂

Raw Ice Cream Co – Ice Cream is my weakness. Creamy, sweet and oh so yummy. But Raw Ice Cream? Is that a word? So, when I saw the sign for FREE sample, I had to give it a try. I chose the Cinnamon Vanilla. It was creamy and sweet, with a little heat from the cinnamon. One word DELICIOUS!! Their products are dairy free, gluten free, rice free, soy free and contain no preservatives. You MUST try it. Ice cream will never be the same again.

Dairy Free Ice Cream

Luna and Larry’s Coconut Bliss is another great alternative to conventional ice cream. It’s made from coconut milk, making it dairy free. I tasted the dark chocolate. I have to say, it was one of the best chocolate ice creams I’ve ever tasted. Lactose Intolerant & Vegans…REJOICE.

peanut butter and bananas

Saratoga Peanut Butter Company – Besides ice cream, my other weakness is Peanut Butter. I can and often do, eat it right out of the jar. That is my staple snack. But this company, takes it to the next level. Chocolate, cinnamon, almonds, chunky and smooth. I chose to pick up a jar of Monkey Boy, which is my favorite sandwich, in a jar. Bananas, peanut butter and raisins (would rather without but works) spread on a piece of bread with a sprinkle of cinnamon and you have yourself the perfect meal.

Soap Walla – One of my guilty pleasure are products. I love sampling and trying out new products. Don’t judge me! So, when I came across Soap Walla’s stand, I had to indulge. I purchased their Lavender & Eucalyptus Body Wash. When you open the bottle and take a sniff, it’s like walking in a lavender field. I love using this wash in the evening. It’s the perfect way to de-stress and come down from a crazy day. You’ll sleep like a baby.

Sweet&Sara

Sweet & Sara – This booth was the talk of the show. Vegan marshmallows? Who knew? Sara (yes there is a Sara) produces marshmallows that are gelatin free, vegetarian & vegan friendly. I got to try the S’mores Marshmallows. All I can say is, Girl Scout cook-outs will never be the same. 🙂

Sunflower Milk

Sunsational – There was the sweetest young boy standing behind a table, selling Milk. Cute boy? I had investigate. Turns out, his family makes Sunflower Milk. It’s non-dairy, high in fiber & plant based protein, good source of folate, Vitamin A and Omega 6 & 9. But how does it taste? YUMMY. It comes in Original and Vanilla. I bought the Vanilla as recommended by the owner. It really does make the best smoothies. P.S. Your son is adorable and a great salesman.

Vege Aqua is a hygienic fruit and vegetable cleanser, that cleans and sterilizes fruits and vegetables, using ionized water. There’s no chemicals and no additives…just water. It was developed by a Korean Company and is looking to break into the American Market. I LOVE this product. You can find it on Amazon and hopefully soon at a store near you.

Vegetable Jewelry

Wired Up Creations – What girl doesn’t love jewelry? But jewelry made out of veggies? Owner Mary Smith turns peas, lentils, radishes and even avocados, into the most beautiful rings and bracelets. There were so many designs to choose from, I couldn’t decide. After much deliberation, I went with the avocado & radish bracelet and lentil ring. I can’t wait to wear it this summer. It will be such a conversation piece.
