Where To Eat Good Ramen Noodle Soup?
I LOVE Ramen Noodle Soup. A big bowl of aromatic broth, filled with noodles and an array a fixings. It’s the perfect meal that is filling and CHEAP.
After an afternoon at the movies, Ramen was definitely on the menu. So a friend a mine and I, walked our appetites over to Menchanko-Tei.
Menchanko-Tei is a tiny Japanese Noodle Restaurant that has about 10 tables and seating at the bar. So if you get there during prime time, be prepared to wait. Lucky for us, we got right in.
Glancing over the many options, I kept going back to the same one. Always go with your gut and my gut told me Menchanko Soup.
Menchanko Soup has a broth that is soy sauce based, with dried benito shavings, scallops, shiitake mushrooms and konbu seaweed. But the star of the show, are the noodles. They’re made fresh daily in their own factory and are meant for slurping. What I also loved, were the prawns placed on top as treats. The bowls are heated, so your soup stays hot. BE CAREFUL.
Beside soups, they also serve delicious dumplings. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.
So if you find yourself in Midtown and looking for a great meal that won’t break the bank, head over to Menchanko-Tei. You will eat like a king for $11.
Happiness, $25 and under.
