24hr Diner With A Latin Twist

We all love a diner. The reliable spot where you can always get a meal no matter what time of day. Eggs, burgers, grlled cheese. Sound familiar? But what if you could find one that had a Latin twist. Sound crazy? Maybe.

Coppelia is the latest spot to hit the meatpacking area. A 24hr diner with a Latin twist. I recently tried it lunch to see what all the hype was about.

I decided to grab a seat by the window to people watch and get a bird’s eye view of the restaurant. Dark wood furniture, tile floor and Latin music playing in the background, add to the experience.

After glancing at the menu, I decide on an appetizer and salad. Fish tacos, Caesar salad and fresh squeezed passion fruit juice. If I close my eyes, I’ll be somewhere on the beach :)

My juice comes first, Sweet and refreshing. Great suggestion from my waiter. Next are my Fish tacos. Grilled tilapia, avocado,  crunchy cole slaw with cilantro, fresh lime in a soft tortilla. Very good. Wish I had more. Next is my salad.

Crispy, crunchy Romaine lettuce, croutons, avocado and a creamy caesar dressing with a hint of fresh lime. Delicous!!!! The perfect amount of food and bursting with flavor.

My only complaint are the prices. I do think it’s a bit overpriced. I get that it’s the meatpacking district and realize the high rents come with it. It just doesn’t offer the great deals that your typical diner does. But if you’re looking for something outside of the box or authentic Latin cooking like your Abuela, then this is the place for you. DELICIOSO
