The Best Sandwich In NYC
One of the things I miss most about Brooklyn is the food. The great Italian delis where you’d get a hero that was jammed packed with fresh ingredients and large enough to feed a family of four. Well that memory has become a reality. Brooklyn’s in the house at Defonte’s.
Defonte’s of Brooklyn has come to Manhattan and us former Brooklynites, have never been happier. This small corner spot is banging out sandwiches NYC has never seen before. The Nicky Special, The Joey Bishop, The Dino and The Jerry Lewis, are just a few of the jammed packed sandwiches they’re cranking out. But don’t forget to look at the specials. If your decision wasn’t hard enough, everyday there are atleast 3 -4 specials listed on the chalkboard.
I usually go for the #25 Hot Turkey Sandwich. Fresh turkey with paper thin fried eggplant and natural au jus gravy. Sssssooooooo good. Everytime I bite into it, it feels like home.
So folks, if you want the real deal from Brooklyn….head over to Defonte’s. Trees and great sandwiches grow there.
Happiness, $25 and under.
