Asian Fusion At It’s Best
I recently attended a hip and cool art exhibit in Midtown. Such a city thing. Beautiful people, DJ playing in the background and champagne flowing. Not bad for a Wednesday night. Depressed that I couldn’t afford anything, the girls decided to grab dinner.
Walking up East 51st Street, we spotted a cool spot. Cool atmosphere, crowded tables and interesting menu. Let’s go in.
Wild Ginger’s menu features a fusion of Asian flavors. Southeast Asia, Japan and Thailand. With an eccletic menu like this, the staple Pad Thai wouldn’t do. We started off with a Wild Ginger Lobster Roll which is a tempura style roll stuffed with lobster salad, avocado and tomato with a spicy mayo sauce. Outstanding.
My entree was the Crispy Red Snapper. Crispy on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside. The sauce was a combination of salty, sweet and a little heat. I honestly shouldn’t have finished it but I couldn’t put my chopsticks down.
The dishes were fresh, creative and mouth watering. Pair that with great service and eye catching decor. This was a great find. I’ll be back….soon!
Happiness, $25 and under.
