Mel’s Diner – American Comfort Food At It’s Best

Mel's Diner 2Before my touring venture of San Francisco, I wanted to hit a good breakfast spot. Browsing  in the Bay City Guide, I found Mel’s Drive-In. A 50’s style diner where American Graffiti was filmed. Sounds good to me.

It was walking distance from my hotel and helped build up my appetite. When I stepped in, it was like stepping  into a episode of Happy Days. Soda fountain, neon, linoleum counter and black and white tiled floor.

I ordered their famous Yuppie Joe’s Scramble which is ground turkey, fresh spinach, mushrooms and green onions scrambled with 2 farm fresh eggs. This was so fresh and flavorful. It kept me fueled for the entire day of touring the city.  It really was a happy day.

Happiness, $25 and under.
